Ken's Ten Thousand Things
Ken JP Stuczynski

Simple weekend really, and no get-togethers … Saturday:  Turkey & Asparagus (camp fire of course) Sunday:  I gave the blessing and led in song the service at Forest Lawn Cemetery, and may have been caught on television.  Abe Lincoln gave the Gettysburg Address; tried to sell me his tickets to the theatre. Monday:  Took care [...]

In exchange for some boxes of corn bread, which took a fortune to send to Scotland, my wife found someone online willing to procure a stamp I saw in Business 2.0 from the UK. 8 Boxes of Cornbread = United Kingdom stamp set including an image of Santa pooping in someone’s chimney Not a bad exchange rate, [...]

I’ve been praying for someone for quite a while, and all the while been thinking of ways to help them, somehow forcing the situation through some personal effort to resolve itself where it needed to just happen on its own. Not only did it happen — and out of the blue — but it gave [...]

I had never been to Letchworth State Park before.  Merry had biked there years back, and I remember an old black-and-white home movie of my parents and grandparents going there, likely lost forever.  But that’s about it. It was really beautiful, but I didn’t get to see much of it.  It was too cold to [...]

This guy stole a graphic off one of my sites a while ago — a Polish-American flag I designed.  But he linked to it directly, so I replaced it with a washed out version with a message: “I’m stealing this graphic and bandwidth from Stuczynski.Org and KenVille.Net (either I don’t have a clue how to [...]

I will never live this time of my life down. http://www.somethingawful.com/d/cliff-yablonski/cliff-yablonski-horrible.php?page=4 (I’m in the “Rock Band” pic, circa 1990)

I found through the WordPress admin panel (for this journal) that someone was linking to me, or rather an image of me.  A blogger from California (Cerebral Metalhead) apparently found me as an example of this fine physionomatic coifure, and upon inspection, sure enough I found my mug on page four of Google Images under [...]

Gearing up as a Sub

I’m making the occassional Tai Chi class again at Red Dragon in the McKinley Mall.  The plan is for when Sifu Bob Gott (the owner) goes to China for 10 days to be tested on his Tai Chi that I will lead the classes while he is gone.  I thought I would be rusty, but [...]

Clean Sweep
May 18th, 2007 by Ken in Everyday Life No Comments

Maybe it’s from watching the TV show “Clean Sweep” where they help people throw out stuff and reorganize living spaces, but I’ve finally got up the courage to sort and toss.  I started with excising a big box of books.  Then Merry and I did major triage on the basement storage area.

I’ve been jonesing for a fire pit since they were on sale last Fall.  My goal?  Having a campfire any evening I want without packing everything up and having to get home before people’s bedtimes. So ever since the weather started getting acceptably warm, I’ve been searching roadsides for a truck tire rim (as from [...]

New Blog
May 15th, 2007 by Ken in Uncategorized No Comments

From now on, I’ll be posting entries here: http://kenville.net/wordpress/ I will still have my LiveJournal, etc., and post exerpts and digests of what’s on the new “central” journal, so feel free to stay in touch here. In fact, I link to my Friends page from there. Peace out, Ken

Merry finally talked me into converting that old crate we aquired from behind the dumpster last year into a coffee table.  I turned the lid upside-down, sanded it like crazy, put on 2-3 coats of combination stain/urethane (the darkest mahogany I could find), and hinges.  The chains to hold it open without overswinging was Merry’s [...]
